Campbell River Housing Symposium
March 6, 2026
The goal of the Campbell River Housing Symposium is to foster partnerships for housing and encourage innovative community-based solutions focussed (mostly!) on non-market, low-income/subsidized, and affordable housing.
Using breakout rooms, we also invite front-line housing and homelessness staff to participate!
Sessions include:
Plenary Session - The Current State: Housing Need & Development Challenges
Development Panel Discussion #1 - Innovation in Housing: Unique and Emerging Models
Development Panel Discussion #2 - Making Projects Possible: Partnerships, Funding, and Land
Front-line Breakout Session #1: Service Availability for Seniors in Need
Front-line Breakout Session #2: Solution-Focused Networking for Service Providers (World Café–style)
Let us introduce you to some of our panelists!
Brenda Knights - CEO, BC Indigenous Housing Society
Thom Armstrong - CEO, Cooperative Housing Federation
Kaeley Wiseman - Principal, Wiser Projects
Andrea Blakeman - CEO, Ballenas Housing Society
Sandy Mackay - Manager of Community Planning, M'akola Development
Alicia Medina - Director of Real Estate Investment, Sacha Investments
While the symposium emphasizes non-market, subsidized, and affordable housing, private market developers are warmly welcomed. We recognize that many of the challenges facing non-profit and private developers—such as construction costs, labour availability, and land acquisition—are shared. This event is designed to foster dialogue across the full housing ecosystem and encourage collaboration that benefits the entire community.
Tickets are $50, lunch and refreshments included! Please reach out directly if cost is a barrier to participation.
