Affordable Housing Benefits Everyone!

Affordable housing is on everyone’s mind. People from all walks of life are being affected by the housing crunch.

WHAT WE FOUND

The four major findings from the Affordable Housing Benefits Everyone engagements were that Campbell River residents want:

  • More affordable housing to rent and to own

  • Greater diversity in housing types, such as townhouses, tiny homes, and apartments

  • Better regulation to encourage affordable and diverse housing

  • More infill and density with access to transport networks and amenities

The report was presented to the City of Campbell River on Monday, June 24th.

WHAT WE DID

The Coalition is working with the Strathcona Community Health Network to start a dialogue about affordable housing and how it benefits the whole community.

The Affordable Housing Benefits Everyone project aims to engage residents by providing information, resources and examples of affordable housing, and opportunities for conversations to discuss hopes, dreams and concerns.

Keep checking the Health Network page for updated information.
